On April 2nd through 4th, 2004, the 48 Hour Film Project returned to Boston, home of sudden snowstorms, glorious foliage, John Kerry, the much-loved Red Sox, and a wild and energetic film community.
The 48 Hour Film Project was extremely popular with audiences and filmmakers alike. 73 teams from all over New England applied to make a movie. Because of space limitations, we were only able to accept 48. 44 teams completed a film, and 31 finished within 48 hours. These films were played in eight packed screenings at the Brattle and Somerville Theaters on April 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th.
And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, we proudly present the winning teams...
(The awards were announced at the Best of the Boston 48HFP screening on May 9th at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA, as part of the Boston Underground Film Festival.)
