The 48HFP Equal Exchange Invitational
The first official 48HFP Equal Exchange Invitational took place the weekend of September 19-22. Teams from three cities—Boston, Portland (Oregon), and Seattle—made thirteen 3 minute films on the theme of people being dangerously disconnected from their food.
On Tuesday, October 21, the films were screened in Boston, Portland, and Seattle to sold-out crowds. The teams were presented their awards by three special guests. In Boston, it was Reverend Billy, activist and star of the documentary What Would Jesus Buy?; in Portland, it was Taggart Siegel, the director of The Real Dirt on Farmer John; and in Seattle, it was Lucy Norris, Co-chair of Slow Food Seattle.
