The weekend? August 4 - 6, 2017

The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!

Filmmakers from all over the Hampton Roads, VA area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2018 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 Short Film Corner.

Kickoff Event

From Scope Parking Garage:

  1. Enter the scope parking garage
  2. Proceed through gate
  3. Stay on the right and go all the way back
  4. Note sign that says “Lower Level Parking,” note the ramp to the right of the sign, drive down that ramp
  5. At the very bottom end of the ramp turn left at the wall
  6. Drive all the way to the very back corner
  7. Look for the mural and the double doors to the basement theater!

From Scope Plaza / Water Fountain:

  1. Face Chrysler Hall box office
  2. See the ticket windows / box office
  3. Look to the right (or left) -- see bright, red doors
  4. Go through the bright red door and down two flights to the basement level
  5. At the very bottom turn right... keep walking until you see an artsy mural on the wall and the double door entrance!

See the Best Of 48 Hour Film Project Hampton Roads 2017! The event begins with screenings of the judges's top films. The screening is followed by an awards ceremony where the teams compete for top prizes in categories such as best cinematography, best lighting, best sound, best actor, best actress and  best picture.  Come celebrate some of the most talented filmmakers in Hampton Roads!
