The Indianapolis 48 Hour Film Project
What Happened During Your Weekend?
The Indianapolis filmmakers share stories from their wild weekend of filmmaking. (Blogging ended shortly after the filmmaking weekend.)
An International Competition
When I first experienced the stress of 48 Hour Film Project, I was in Seoul, South Korea. Seeing all the different genres and ideas exposed at the screening was simply mind blowing. During the Indianapolis shoot, I wanted to bring that same emotion to us locally.
I work at an international school, and I asked 3 students (1 South Korean, 1 Venezuelan and 1 Arabian) to help my team out. They were so happy to participate! It truly brings joy and an overall "booster" to the crew when this type of collaboration happens.
This is what 48 Hour Film Project does. I have seen screenings all over the world. From amateur to big production companies, you have a place here, win or lose.
Many thanks to Big Car and Jim Walker for all of your help with this project and our community!

"WAVES" short for the 48 hour film project
Hello all. I am proud to be a part of this! This is my first time to enter a 48 hour project and it WAS A BLAST!! I came up with my story in a few hours and really hoped I could get the footage that I wanted on Sat the 3rd. We did get 90% of the footage in a 12 hour day.. AFter getting everything back home I transferred my footage and began to edit the next morning..I was a lone ranger when it came to edit and effects besides the paperwork. I also had a drive over an hour to turn it in..At the last few hours of editing I realized I would not be able to tell the full story and had to get a ending edited fast! I did like the pressure but of course was disappoint in myself for biting off a little to much. so lacking some sounds and color and effect..Then after I printed with minutes left I noticed glitches in my footage..:( I was bummed for a little bit driving it there but also realized I put a great effort and if I didn't have the drives I would had made it with a awesome version....I really hope everyone enjoys the film and cant wait to see other local film makers 48 hour visions come to life...I am Proud of all the Indies for trying if they didnt complete and bravo to who did get something turned in..WHAT A CHALLENGE and What a great experience! ..I now have one under my belt and plan to shoot another 48 contest next week! THANKS to 48 HOUR PROJECT! See you Next Year!
