The Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project
What Happened During Your Weekend?
The Jacksonville filmmakers share stories from their wild weekend of filmmaking. (Blogging ended shortly after the filmmaking weekend.)
Why did you do that? ...no wait, what was it again?
Trying to remember the given line was pretty funny. What a great experience for our team, this is our second year. What a previledge to be able to work with people who share in the same passion. This is what it's all about. Meeting new people sharing stories and experiences. Thanks for the opportunity! Oh and I would like to take this time to say to my wife, "P.S. I Luv U!"

Had a blast
First, I want to say what a pleasure it was working with my fellow members of Wyldstone Films in making "The Unwelcome". From 7pm Friday night to 3pm Sunday afternoon - it was 100 percent!
I can say as the director, our films success is a direct response to the entire teams dedication and un-relentless commitment to putting together the best film we could in 48 hours.
To all of the other teams - best of luck - there were some really good films made this year!

Here's Hoping for the Top 15!!!
What a great year this was for all the teams involved. I got to get to more more teams this year. We've been in the contest since it started in Jacksonville 3 years ago. We're getting so much better every year. This year was our best yet. Here's hoping for a spot in the top 15. We feel we put a film that captured the genre and quality of a good short film. We just hope the judges feel the same way. it sucks not getting in the top films every year. We feel like we're becoming the Susan Lucci of the 48 Hour Film Project Jacksonville. Maybe this is the year. After hearing that the judges will put films in the top and then the audience will round out the rest. I know for a fact we're not getting in from the audience side because we don't bring in as much other groups. We have a very small crew and work best with who we have around us. Here's hoping for the best. I went to every screening and saw some great films. To the person talking about Family Friendly Films... like a poster said earlier, he did tell people to leave after a certain point. I think what Mac McDonald is doing is great not just for the city, but for local filmmakers wanting to get noticed. Can't wait for Saturday, June 20 to find out the top films. See You All There!

Yup.
We had a great time making the film. We wanted to go out, make a movie, and have fun, just like every other team.
Mission Accomplished.
I apologize if "Unrepentant Lust" unintentionally offended anyone. That's the price I was willing to pay for language (and violence), and I have no regrets.
Yes. It was a very R rated satire, and there was a warning for anyone in the audience to leave after the 7th film if they would be uncomfortable in an R rated environment.
Again, a special thanks to my cast, you guys sold it!

Oh the Horror!!!
I must say that I was quite horrified at my genre....or horror. I was very pleased with what our team produced. (thank you Miller for the idea!)
The weekend was very hectic as our camera did not show up until 11:00 Saturday morning and had to leave at 9:00 that night, fortunately the owner of said camera was a trouper and stayed until 2:00 am!!! We did have to go back Sunday and get 2 shots with a different camera (of not nearly the same quality), but it worked out for us. Next year maybe we'll try to get a camera for the whole weekend. :-)

We made it!!
We got the type of movie we wanted and was ready to roll. I was missing a woman for a part and a old friend just show up that night and was ready to do the part. We had a motel lined up to let us do the shoot but Sat. morning they changed their minds and didn't let us shoot there. A team mate had a room in a old house for us to shoot one scene but we ended up shooting the main scene there. I was upset that we didn't have a motel to use but I had to get over it and use what we had. We started shooting Fri. night until about 2 in the morning but that scene was cut :-(. Was sleep at 3 and back up at 5 to catch the sunrise at the beach. We needed time so most of that was cut :-( lol. Other than needing more time to make the film look better everything went well. Always plan on your plans not working out and be ready to make up stuff as you go. Thats the only way to get it done in 48hrs.

no arguments, no fights, no disagreements....awesome team
We had an awesome team that worked very well together. We had 0 fights, 0 disagreements and 0 arguments.
Even though we faced a lot of pressure towards the end, no one cracked. Everyone was laid back and we had loads of fun.
