The weekend? November 4 - 6, 2016

The challenge? To make a holiday film in only 48 hours!

The 48 Hour Film Holiday Project is here to celebrate the holidays. Bring on the Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas bells and New Year's hats and get ready for a weekend you won't forget.

Filmmakers from all over the Los Angeles, CA area will compete to see who can make the best holiday short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will screen at Filmapalooza 2017.


What's so special about the 48 Hour Film Holiday Project?

  • This competition is open to only 30 teams.
  • At kickoff, you will receive two genres in a random drawing to choose from - ie: Dark Comedy or Romance, Sci Fi or Drama.
  • Each team will be randomly assigned a holiday theme: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Kwanza/Hanukkah, or New Years.

Registration Fees

  • Early Bird: $150 USD/team ends Mon, Oct 10
  • Regular: $175 USD/team ends Fri, Nov 4
