48 Emotions

48 Emotions

Participating in the 48 hour film project has been truly amazing !!! We experienced a range of 48 emotions in 48 hours . On May 2nd , after we got our genre

detective/cop , we rushed off to the beach nearby to brainstorm. We sat up all night to write our script. It was crazy to be awake at 3am and still be able

to write something that makes sense !!

After a lot of rewriting our script was ready at 9:00 am the next day i.e May 3rd. Finding a location to suit our genre was a daunting task. we were scouting

for locations and finally we managed to get hold of a place at 2:00pm. But later we realised that the room was quite small to shoot. The clock is ticking and

I was beginning to panick .. although I managed to maintain calm. I was like a duck ...a swan sounds better... that looks serene from the surface of the

water , but paddling vigorously !!!

Its 6pm and we finally zeroed in on the location. We set up the camera lights and its 7pm now.
We are about to take the first shot and the lights conked off ^@*$
The making of our detective movie was beginning to feel like a horror movie. The adage "If anything can go wrong it will" was turning to be true in our case.

By 9:00pm we got additional lights . Halleluiah !! Finally the shoot began at 9:00 pm and we shot late night.
The next day May 4th we started editing at 10:am. We finished editing at 6:00 pm.
We rushed to the dropoff event and reached on time. Reaching the venue on time was a marathon in itself.

We felt proud on being able to complete the movie on time. Talking about pride reminds me of the incident that took place on May2nd at the kickoof incident.

A news reporter who was interviewing the teams asked me "Are you feeling nervous about participating in the 48 hour competition "

I replied "No, I am really excited !!". Then she added "Arent you scared coz India is participating in this international competition for the first time? ".

At this the first thought that came to my head was "The world should be scared that India is participating in this competition!! "

What an experience

What an experience! We were given our genre on 2nd May at 7 p.m, when our official 48 hr project commenced...our genre was 'historical fiction' (I know!!!)...So, our director went to Sion, where he located an old fort, that would work as a good enough location. Next day early morning, we all went to Sion at 8, reached the fort and found out that any kind of shooting was strictly prohibited there (of course!!!)...So, after a long chat with the fort officials, we somehow managed o shoot our film...in Mumbai's 40+ temp (imagine!!!)...but our director, cameraman and editor were awesome...We did the best we could that day and left the rest in the hands of the editor...Even he did a fab job, that too in few hours' time...On Sunday (May 4th) we all went to PVR to submit our film at 6'O clock (official deadline was 7)...
I was totally new to all this, had zero experience in acting or direction, but I learned soo much in those two days...
I don't care if we win or loose, but this will definitely prove to be a memorable experience...Thnx to Ms Robina Gupta and 48-hr film project team for introducing this project in Mumbai and giving us an opportunity...
