The New Hampshire 48 Hour Film Project

What Happened During Your Weekend?

The New Hampshire filmmakers share stories from their wild weekend of filmmaking. (Blogging ended shortly after the filmmaking weekend.)

Congratulations to NH48HFP Teams

BRAVO!!! Congratulations to all the NH48HRP teams. You deserve lots of praise for all your hard work and the resulting films.

Of the 26 teams that entered this year, two dropped out Saturday of filmmaking weekend. But every other team submitted films on time by Sunday at 7:30 pm.

I think it is the first time in NH48HFP history that 100% of the films met the deadline. Considering contest wide 20% of the films are late, it\\\'s a huge accomplishment. Well done.

Thanks to everyone who came out to last night\\\'s screenings. We almost filled the theater in Group A and had a great turnout in Group B too.

I have to admit yesterday I was somewhat in panic mode right up until 6:10 when the test of our film flickered up on the screen. Thanks to James Fogg for his long hours assembling the films and to Dan Deering & the staff of Cinemagic for pulling it all together at the end.

The critique from both audiences was clear that this year\\\'s films were the highest quality across the board yet. The judges will have a very difficult time this year.

We hope to have the announcement of the Audience Awards early next week. The nominations for the other awards should be out in mid-July. Don\\\'t forget to block your calendar for Thursday, July 24 for the Best of NH48HFP & Awards.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to my sister Wendy who served as Assistant Producer and made sure so much got done on time. James Fogg was a huge help in handling all the techie issues I know nothing about. Also thanks to John Herman, Brendan McQuaid and Catie & Bill Cote for their advice and support. Finally my appreciation to Deb Durant, my wife Diana, and daughter Hilary for helping out at many events.

I can\\\'t say enough about the encouragement, appreciation and assistance offered by the team leaders, sponsors and teams during this first year as producer.

We tried some new things this year and still have some coming up. There is lots we have learned and many new ideas to try. I welcome your feedback, suggestions and criticism as we review this year.

Thank you everyone. See you on July 24!
