Are you making your plans to join us at Filmapalooza?  You can save $30 off the registration by signing up before January 8th. But hurry--that deadline will be here before you know it! Make plans to join the 48HFP as we rock Rotterdam next March 3rd - 7th: http://48hourfilm.com/filmapalooza.

But Filmapalooza is much more than just screenings and parties.

This year we will be presenting our biggest selection of filmmaking workshops as well.  Industry professionals will be on hand to provide inside information that will help you advance your career. From Wednesday through Friday (March 4th, 5th, and 6th), Filmapalooza will feature twelve different workshops with great information including how to get your film into festivals, directing stars, and how to shoot a love scene.

Check out a selection of these "not to be missed" presentations below:

Selling to Hollywood
2020 will be a record year for feature script and film sales to production companies and online platforms. Learn what sold to film producers and studios recently, where to find information about contacting producers and how to get your feature scripts directly to them without agency representation. Get a genre breakdown of feature films presented at the most recent American Film Market. Empower yourself to make the leap from short films to features.  Presented by Sharon Y. Cobb, professional screenwriter and member of the Writers Guild of America.

How to make the perfect love scene!
Oh, the awkwardness. Filming a love scene is one of the most difficult tasks within our working field. How do you create the proper atmosphere on set, prepare the actors and make sure to stay away from 'me too'-situations? Dutch director Stephan Brenninkmeijer is famous for his love scenes. He created the Dutch blockbusters Swingers and Caged and even made a love scene in his latest 48 Hour film, including nudity. Stephan takes us through an interesting journey of public opinion, perfect bodies, tasteful actors and... on screen genitals.

How to get your film into festivals
So you succeeded in making a perfect 48 Hour Film, but what's next? Two experts will explain how to get your film selected at festivals around the globe. Bianca Taal is head programmer of short films at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and explains what she is looking for in the selection process. Kuba Szutkowski is an experienced Dutch film maker. His 48 Hour-films "Vonk" and "Pensionado"  got an official selection at more than 50 international festivals. With his films he traveled to countries such as Russia, China and the United States.

Directing the Stars
Dutch director Marco Grandia became GRAND CHAMPION of the 48 Hour Film Project in 2015 with his film "Unforgettable". Besides his fiction work, Marco specializes in directing international commercials for the biggest brands. In the past years he has made video's starring celebrities such as actress Gwyneth Paltrow, basketball professional Kobe Bryant, star soccer player Lionel Messi, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen. Marco shows us some of his best work and gives you insight on directing the biggest stars on the globe.
