The weekend? July 14 - 16, 2017
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Cleveland, OH area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2018 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2018, Court Métrage.
The 48 Hour Film Project is returning to Cleveland, and this year we're celebrating our 10 year anniversary! Join us at MOCA Cleveland to network with other members of the film community, watch some great films, and learn more about this year's 48HFP events and MOCA's monthly Open Projector Night program.
This event is open to the public and pay what you can ($5 suggested donation)--a cash bar will be available on site. We'll begin the evening with some casual networking, followed by film screenings at 8:00pm. We'll be screening some of the top 48HFP films from our 2016 tour alongside other films created by Cleveland artists and filmmakers. There will be a short Q&A with the directors after each of the films. After the screenings we'll continue networking and mixing it up with other members of the Cleveland film and arts community. It's a fun time and a great opportunity to check out the artistry and creativity of our Cleveland filmmakers.
Have a short film you'd like to screen? You'll definitely want to learn more about MOCA's monthly Open Projector Night--you provide the film, MOCA provide the projector, and the audience provides the cheers, jeers, or curious silence. Open Projector Night showcases the original films and videos that you create, open mic-style. All genres and skill levels are welcome, so there’s no telling where the night will go. Films must be 10-minutes or less and are added to the line-up on a first-come, first-served basis until they reach a 60-minute program.
Celebrate with filmmakers, cast, and crew at our wrap party to conclude this year's 48 Hour Film Project. Location TBA. Immediately following Best Of screening and Awards Ceremony at Atlas Cinemas Lakeshore 7.
