The weekend? July 19 - 21, 2019
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Detroit, MI area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2020 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2020 Short Film Corner.
Are you new to the 48 Hour Film Project and would like to know more? Do you want to have a team of your own but need a cast and crew? Ever wanted to know what it was like to make a film in just two days? Well then come join us June 23rd at the Novi Public Library for this FREE event!
We are going to have a panel of filmmakers who can answer your questions and give you their first hand experience and advice on the 48 Hour Film Project. We are going to show their films, talk about what you need to get started and have your own team, plus a Q & A portion.
We will have tables set up for you to meet makeup artists, graphic designers, musicians, actors and more. If you don't have someone to do your graphics or you don't have original music, I highly recommend you do. This will help set your film apart and we give away awards for all these categories.
If you have a registered team and you are in need of help, you are able to have your own table to recruit. This is free of charge, but you must be registered for the 48HFP in advance. You can do that here -->https://www.48hourfilm.com/detroit-mi. Contact me Jen Gentner on FB, email email@example.com, or phone 734-845-4275 if you would like a table.
Who should attend? Everyone! If you are an actor or actress and you want to be in a 48 film, a team leader who needs a crew, a crew member who needs a team, a film buff, or a big supporter of local film-come out and see us!
