The weekend? June 21 - 23, 2019
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Greensboro, NC area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2020 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2020 Short Film Corner.
We're offering two workshops, back-to-back taught by multi-award winner and filmmaker extraordinaire Stephen van Vuuren. Targeted to those new to the 48HFP, these workshops will also benefit seasoned participants as Stephen is a great source of information.

2:30 p.m. - Sound is one of the most difficult aspects of film, especially when trying to get things right for the 48HFP. "Let's Hear it - Make your 48HFP film sound great" will cover aspects of capturing and editing sound.
We'll take a break between workshops.
4:30 p.m. - "Shoot & Edit a Winning 48HFP Film" will cover some amazing tips to help you produce a great film. We'll wrap up at 5:45.
Stephen has written, directed, photographed and/or edited several feature films, over a dozen short films and many commercials, music videos, sound, music and web projects. He has also worked on on many productions as a director of photography, cinematographer, editor, sound mixer, visual FX artist and sound designer. His specialties include: Directing, Producing, Editing, Sound, Music, Cinematography, Videography, DCP, Digital Cinema Production, Sound Design, Writing, DVD Authoring, Animation, Motion Graphics, Visual Effects.
Now is your chance to create a team, find team members, or join a team for the 2019 Greensboro 48HFP. Team leaders, crew, and actors are all invited in one spot to meet, mingle and audition.

Doors open at 10 a.m. - Check in, mingle
10:30 - Welcome and announcements with overview of audition process
10:45 - 11:15 Actors audition (Come with one-minute prepared monologue)
11:15 - Noon - More time to mingle

All ages and talent levels are welcome.
Free Parking in Church Street Parking Deck. First level has a door and walkway that lead to the first floor of the Cultural Center. Theatre is on first floor.
Representatives from each team will gather to draw their teams' genres and to find out what the required prop, character, and line of dialogue will be. It's an exciting event as the energy and creativity build up to kick off a great weekend of filmmaking!
After a very busy weekend, filmmakers will bring in their completed films. The goal: Arrive before 7:30 p.m. with the finished film. Late films will still be screened, but not judged. Emotions range from satisfaction, excitement, accomplishment to defeat, frustration, and anguish. The best feeling? Knowing you did your best, and had fun, regardless of the outcome.
See the award-winning films made the weekend of June 21-23! Following the screening, the judges' awards will be announced in Oscar style. It's a fun and exciting evening for filmmakers and the audience that loves short films!
