The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the New Haven, CT area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours.
Write, shoot, and edit a short film over the weekend and see it PREMIERE on the BIG SCREEN!
All Welcome! First-timer to Hobbyists to Amateurs to Professionals!
Take your filmmaking to the NEXT LEVEL!
Wherever you are currently in your filmmaking journey, the 48 Hour Film Project is a valuable next step!
•. Make your FIRST film... the first of many!
•. Create a film (or another film!) for your reel
• Practice new techniques -- in a low-risk setting
•. Find new filmmaking partners to work with, beginning on a (very!) short-term basis
• Create work to help show off your skills to find that next job!
The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2023 (in Los Angeles!) for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2023 Short Film Corner!
Plus, new this year… the top three teams will be eligible for the soon-to-be-announced 48HFP “Yes We Cannes” challenge in December!

Come early to chat about movie making and maybe find a 48 team to join, or get information about creating your own team! This is the last day of the Early Bird Registration! Which means the price goes up $20 tomorrow (July 6th) to Regular Registration Rate. This is the best time to get your team signed up to SAVE!
I'll grab a table or two, but to play - you have to get your cards before 6:45 as indicated below! Then we can play Mixed Tape Match to wrap up the night! See you there 48ers!

- It's Almost time for the NHV48HFP Filming weekend!To get ready this Filmmaker's Lounge at the State House will also include tips for filming weekend from City Producer Trish Clark!!For inspiration this time, we will show 5 of Trish's favorite / most memorable films from New Haven. Winning the Best Film of the year isn't the only way to get 48 LOVE! These 48s have stood he test of time. Still discussing how these films from years past proves that they have made lasting impressions!The films will start around 8:00 pm and then have a fun film lounge night chat. It's a mix & mingle for local Filmmakers!AFTER the films I'll give some tried & true 48 tips to help your through the filming weekend July 29 - 31st too!You are allowed to bring food in to eat. So, grab some local dinner, then settle in at the State House for tasty beverages while we watch some films and chat about productions!

- Our Filming weekend is HERE!KickOff is at the new @Aramada Brewing location at 190 Water Street.At least 1 person from the team needs to come to the event in order to officially check in & play GENRE Plinko.Check in will start shortly after 5:00 pm when we're all set up. Check in as soon as you arrive, and then grad a drink, and maybe a pizza from the bar!The required elements will be revealed at 7:00 pm.Please stay tuned to this event for updated and parking info as we get closer!PLEASE SEE THE PHOTO WITH PARKING OPTIONS IN THE FB EVENT BEFORE YOU GET THERE!*There will be a virtual option provided to the teams that request it in advance.
