The weekend? August 27 - 29, 2021
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the San Diego, CA area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2022 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 Short Film Corner.
Covid-19 has caused a major disruption to the film industry and to life in general. Now as more people have been vaccinated and herd immunity is approached, things are starting to get back to "normal." This includes San Diego Filmmakers.
The San Diego Filmmakers will be having their first post-Covid meeting on August 10th and has invited the SD48HFP to speak about getting back to filmmaking. SD Filmmakers got its start back in 2005 as a result of the 48 Hour Film Project so their SD48HFP roots run deep. Several participants from that year's contest wanted to keep the community collaboration going - and so the SD Filmmakers group was born.
There will also be a SAG representative talking about how Covid has affected acting and what the future looks like.
The San Diego Filmmakers' meetings are informative events and great networking opportunities!
