The weekend? May 17 - 19, 2019

The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!

Filmmakers from all over the San Diego, CA area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2020 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2020 Short Film Corner.

Kickoff is getting closer! Come mingle with fellow filmmakers at the location where you'll be dropping off your finished films on May 19th! (by 7:30 PM in order to be ON TIME!)

Join a team, find team members, or build a team of your own! This is the year for you to walk the purple carpet and see your very own film on the big screen!

Kickoff Event

It's time for the Kickoff!! Your whole team is welcome to join in the festivities as you receive your genres and elements for this year's 48 Hour Film Project!

There will be food trucks at NTC Park that evening so plan to come and enjoy dinner in the beautiful San Diego evening weather!

Teams MUST have a SIGNED Team Leader Agreement turned into us in order to participate in the kickoff that night. 

We hope to see your whole team there to join in the fun as we Kickoff your filmmaking weekend!

It all comes down to THIS! Your film needs to be in to us by the 7:30 deadline in order to be on-time! ALL films, on-time and late, are eligible for Audience Choice so even if you're not there by 7:30 BRING YOUR FILM ANYWAY!

We will be on the patio at Gordon Biersch Mission Valley. Come early and stay for the countdown! It's always an exciting time!
