If you are making MP4 files, a quick and dirty process to make the file is to export using a 1080p preset for either YouTube or Vimeo. a 4-7 min. film (with credits and slates taken into consideration) should produce a file approximately 600MB to 1-1.5GB.

Pro tip: Use the Vimeo or YouTube preset and change the setting to 1 Pass VBR or CBR (constant bitrate) and up the Bitrate to 24Mbps.

When exporting to ProRes QuickTime, you should be looking at approximately 1GB per minute of run time. So files between 4-8GB are not uncommon in this format.
