Kickoff Event

Fri, Jun 28, 2019 @ 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Rudyard's British Pub
2010 Waugh Drive, Houston 77006

Please note that we are meeting in Rudyard's event room upstairs.

Representatives from each team will gather to draw their genre and learn this year's prop, character & line dialogue.

- Please limit yourself to only one representative per team.

- The representative may be any member of the team - it does not have to be the team leader.

- The representative must bring the Team Leader's Agreement to kickoff. The agreement must be signed by the team leader.

- Everyone will be released at 7:00pm to begin working on their films.

Rudz has a band show in that room starting at 8:00pm, so once we release folks to start working on their films, everyone will be required to clear out.  If you would like to stay there to begin brainstorming on your films, you will need to move downstairs.

Please note that we will be accepting films in the event room located inside Jax Grill (on Shepherd just south of I-10). Once you enter the restaurant, you should see the restroom entrance on opposite wall.  Go around the corner just past that and the event room will be on your left.

  • Films are due by 7:30pm to be considered on-time and eligible for the judges awards and prizes.
  • Cutting it close time-wise?  The team representative must be inside Jax at the check-in table with film in hand (not still rendering) by 7:30pm to be on-time.
  • We'll start accepting films around 6:30pm and will be there until at least 8:30pm.
  • Late films will still screen and be eligible for the audience awards - so if you're not done by 7:30pm, keep working and get it to us as soon as you can.
  • If you need to submit your film after 8:30pm, call the 48HFP Hotline Number (to be given out at kickoff) to make arrangements for dropping off your film.

  • Make sure your complete movie is in the file
  • Please check your sound levels to ensure they are relatively even throughout the film – one of our biggest problems with submissions is films that are very loud in some places and hard to hear in others
