The weekend? August 14 - 16, 2020

The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!

Filmmakers from all over the Jacksonville, FL area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2021 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2021 Short Film Corner.

Kickoff Event

Join us at Hemming Park for the kick-off of the Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project 2020 season.  Team leaders will pick an envelope to determine the genre they will film and the City Producers will reveal the character, prop and line that has to be in each film.  

 There will be great music and cash bar to celebrate before teams dash off to make a film!


*STRONGLY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE WEAR A MASK AND EXERCISE 6 FEET SOCIAL DISTANCING.  

Dropoff Event

Competing teams will dash back to Hemming Park to turn in their completed 48 hour films.

The doors to the MOSH will open at 6:30pm for check-in and concessions.  Screening will start at 7:30pm in the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium followed by a Q&A with filmmakers.  


*PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MOSH WILL REQUIRE EVERYONE WEAR A MASK.  THE MOSH WILL HAVE MASKS FOR PURCHASE FOR ANYONE WITHOUT ONE.  THE STAFF OF THE MOSH WILL CHECK EVERYONE'S TEMPERATURE PRIOR TO ENTRY.  

Best Of Screening

The Best of Screenings will take place at the MOSH inside the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium.  Doors will open at 6:30pm to allow for check-in and concessions. 

The films and nominations will screen at 7:30pm followed by a roof-top award ceremony hosted by First Coast Living's Haddie Djemal.
