The weekend? May 15 - 17, 2020
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Jacksonville, FL area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2021 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2021 Short Film Corner.
Filmmakers interested and/or registered can meet and network at Dick Wings to discuss the upcoming 48 and what is happening in the local film community. Any questions about the 48 or assistance needed to register their team can be addressed with the City Producers at this event.
This event is also a great way for actors and crew wanting to be on a team to link up with registered teams that are in need.
The City Producers invite all teams registered and interested along with actors/actresses and crew on teams or looking to join teams to come out to Sweet Pete's to mingle and meet.
The film community in attendance can participate in a speed networking challenge that will allow people to find teams to work with during the upcoming 48.
We ask that people bring headshots, resumes and/or business cards to give out at this event.
The City Producers will host a Facebook Live so filmmakers and teams can get final details on what to expect on the upcoming filming weekend. Questions and assistance with registration can be addressed at that time.
Join us at Hemming Park for the kick-off of the Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project 2020 season. Team leaders will spin the wheel to pick their genre and the City Producers will reveal the character, prop and line that has to be in each film.
This is an event open to the public and there will be great music, food trucks and cash bar to celebrate before teams dash off to make a film!
The Best of Screenings will take place at the MOSH inside the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium. Doors will open at 6:00pm to allow for check-in and concessions. The films and nominations will screen at 7:00pm followed by a roof-top award ceremony hosted by First Coast Living's Haddie Djemal.
