The weekend? 16 - 18 November 2018
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Mumbai, IN area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2019 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 Short Film Corner.
Teams have to be present at 5 pm for an interactive discussion and screening of films made in the previous editions of the 48 Hour Film Project. It will be followed by a Q&A and finally at 6:20 pm, we begin picking the genres from a hat! At 6:59 pm, the prop, character and dialogue will be announced!
Teams have to physically drop off their films created in 48 hours at the venue. Only pen drives (and DVDs-- they still exist?) are allowed. Hard drives and laptops once accepted will not be returned! **wink wink**
7 pm is the deadline... with a grace period of 30 minutes. At 7:29:50, we begin a 10-second countdown. The films of all the teams in the queue for submission will be accepted as On Time films. Those who come in even a second after 7:30 pm, would be Late films. Late films will be accepted, but are not eligible for jury awards. All the films - on time and late- will be screened and are eligible for Audience Awards!
