48 Hour Global Film Challenge czerwiec 5 - 7, 2020

Filmmaking Weekend Complete

Congratulations to all of the teams that submitted films for the 48 Hour Global Film Challenge.  Participants on the 383 teams represent more than 75 cities in 24 different countries around the world.

The creative work is impressive and our judges are eager to get to work...

Step 1: Local Judging

Local judges in each city have two weeks to determine their city winners.

The Wild Card teams are divided into two groups and one winner will be chosen from each (by a different set of judges).

Step 2: Online Voting

Online voting will begin approximately June 20 and is open to everyone around the world.

Round 1: Country winners will be determined by pitting city winners (from the same country) against each other.

Round 2: The global winner will be determined by pitting country winners against each other.

GFC Gives Back

A portion of proceeds will go to benefit Doctors Without Borders and their efforts against the coronavirus.

Filmmaking Weekend Update

Due to coronavirus and ongoing curfews, teams were given the choice of weekends to compete - June 5-7 or June 12-14.  City Winners will be announced by June 20 and online voting will start at that time.

You're a creative filmmaker.  You can't wait for the lockdown to be finished.  You want to show the world what you can do...

The 48 Hour Global Film Challenge gives you that chance!

The 48HFP Meets World Cup!

We're doing a mashup of the 48 Hour Film Project and the World Cup!  There will be online voting that determines the best film in each country, then we'll begin the Group Stages where country winning films will be randomly assigned to compete against other country winners.  Local judges determine who the city winners are, but the online audience takes control from there.

How does it work?

It is an online Project with electronic Kickoff and Drop Off.  Participants are required to adhere whatever local government requirements and protocols are in place at the time of the Project (czerwiec 5 - 7, 2020).  We've seen what filmmakers are capable of in our Stuck At Home 48 challenges, and we know you will overcome any limitations presented by the current conditions.

Coronavirus Pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic may have changed our plans, but it won't stop the creativity of you, our filmmakers.  As with our other official Projects, the winner of the 48 Hour Global Film Challenge will screen at Filmapalooza 2021 and receive a trophy.  In addition, the winner of this Global Film Challenge will be part of the 48HFP Screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner 2021.
