A huge THANK YOU to our esteemed Judging Panel:
Tsogtbayar Namsrai is an award-winning producer, festival jury and CEO of several successful companies. After graduating film school in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Tsogtbayar Namsrai moved to San Francisco, CA and founded Rise Films Studio, producing music videos, commercials, and short films. Additionally, Tsogtbayar started producing films back in Mongolia, founding a company called “Mongol Films Distribution” which sells many of his produced films as well as other acquisitions from Mongolia to international markets. Mongol Films Distribution is the first Mongolian sales company that successfully sold many titles in an international cinema world. He also co-founded a partner company in Mongolia to distribute foreign language international films to Mongolian market. Tsogtbayar has produced over 30 feature and documentary films and is currently working on ten other projects. His companies have sold and distributed over 130 films both in international markets and Mongolia.
Mike Ryan is the founding Rhode Island Producer of the 48 Hour Film Project, leading it for its first six years. He is the 2006 recipient of a Best Short Film award from the Rhode Island International Film Festival, a 2016 winner of a Best Screenplay award from the same festival, one of the founders of the Rhode Island Film Collaborative, a non-profit helping independent filmmakers make films, a recipient of Oscar Night Rhode Island’s 2013 Producer’s Circle Award and SENE Film Festival's 2015 Limelight Award. Mike currently publishes Motif, Rhode Island’s arts and entertainment magazine, where he has also written a film column off and on for 15 years.
Melissa Starker has over 30 years' experience in film presentation in Columbus and her hometown of Boston, and has spent over two decades writing about film. A former assistant editor for Columbus Alive, she's also provided film and arts coverage for freelance clients including the Columbus Dispatch, the Guardian UK, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council. She currently manages PR and creative content for the Wexner Center for the Arts.
