The Minneapolis 48 Hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project comes to Minneapolis on the weekend of June 5 - 7, 2015. Filmmakers from all over the Minneapolis area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world.

This year, teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the initial registration is complete, we will add teams to a waiting list.

Early Bird Registration is $140. Teams must register on or before Monday, May 11 to get this special rate. Regular registration is $160. If teams register after Tuesday, May 26 they must pay a rate of $175.

Filmmaker Speed Dating

Notes  This isn’t your run of the mill mixer. Adopting the “speed dating” platform, filmmakers are given just 3 minutes to network one-on-one with someone and rotate.

Cinco De Mayo Meet & Greet Mixer

Notes  By now more filmmakers will have registered to compete. This will be the opportunity for newcomers to get their name out and meet the other participants.

Editing Workflow Workshop

Date  Tuesday, May 12

Notes  Filmmakers will hear from experienced crewmembers for tips and tricks on the technical and post production side of filmmaking.

Mixer at Cinema Lounge

Date  Wednesday, May 20

Notes  Cinema Lounge brings in filmmakers from all around the Twin Cities, the social hour is dedicated to networking for the 48.

Costume Rentals Workshop

Date  Tuesday, May 26

Place  Costume Rentals, 855 E. Hennepin Ave Minneapolis, MN
Notes  Filmmakers are invited to an acting workshop held inside Costume Rentals. Afterwards, filmmakers are welcome to tour the venue and browse over 30,000 costumes.

Notes  Team Leaders will draw their genres and be given the required elements to use in their film. The 48 hours to write, shoot and edit their film begins.
