The Detroit 48 Hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project comes to Detroit on the weekend of July 24th. Filmmakers from all over the Detroit area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world for the title "Best 48 Hour Film of ".

Teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the initial registration is full, we will put teams on a waiting list. If a registered team drops out or if we add additional theater space, teams on the waiting list will be added to the Project.

Early Bird Registration is $135. Teams must register on or before Monday, June 29, to get this special rate. Afterwards, registration is $155.

Exciting News!
We have added an additional screening (Thursday July 30th at the Maple Art Theatre in addition to Wednesday July 29th at the Main Art Theatre) in order to accommodate the overwhelming interest in the project. We have invited the waiting list teams to complete their registrations and have re-opened registration for the remaining slots. All teams that sign up after July 1st will screen at the Maple Art Theatre. If you have not registered your team yet, now is the time!
